We are looking for COMMITTED fosters to help dogs get ready for their forever homes. This will not only help to free up space in our rescue but it means we will also have the opportunity to help more dogs in need of us the most.
What does "committed" mean?: It means that you will not give up or abandon the dog as soon as or if a small bump in the road arises. We mean that you're willing to work with and through anything that may come along with these rescue dogs. Most commonly these issues are: house training, separation anxiety (because you are the first "family" that have had in a long time), crate training, boundaries, confidence building, leash walking, and socializing.
And remember, we are here with you EVERY single step of the way and only ONE text away from any questions or concerns you may have regarding your foster dog or puppy. We have seen it all and chances are, WE CAN HELP YOU!
To foster, you MUST live in the following cities:
Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, Menifee, Fallbrook, and neighboring areas. If you are not sure if you are in an area available for fostering, please feel free to ask and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
At HRAS, we take in dogs of ALL breeds, ages, sizes, and more.
Some have been victims of abuse or neglect and have not been lucky enough to get the necessary training (both house and obedience) or the socialization, Others could use the extra one-on-one love, and Many more just need a safe place to land.
Please note that being a foster home, you are not fostering a dog that will be a perfect fit for *your* family.
When they come into your home, it is imperative not to expect them to be the "perfect fit". This is where you come in; to prepare them for their forever homes through: patience, understanding, and devotion. After all, they were abandoned by their family, if they had one at all. They need you to help them through this tough time.
We are with you through every step of the way but what we need most are foster homes who are fully committed to fostering a dog or two or a litter (your preference is on the application) for an average of 2-4 weeks, subject to change.
All dogs are assessed before going into foster homes to ensure they will thrive in your household for everybody's safety and comfortability.
We provide food, all supplies needed, continuous support and 24/7 text line throughout your foster period, AND we will cover their medical expenses.
All you need to provide is a safe, loving, and understanding foster home until a forever home can be found.

If you haven't already noticed, there is no way to fill in the application straight from the computer or your phone. We're working on it slowly but surely and hoping to have that feature soon so that it will be easier for you to fill it out and send it to us.
Because of this, we've been receiving quite a few questions regarding how to fill it out and send it to us.
There are a few ways that you can do this, you can choose whichever is easiest for you:

- Print the application, fill it out in pen, take a picture of it from your phone, and text or email us the picture.
- Print the application, fill it out in pen, scan it, and email or text it back to us
- Copy and Paste the questions on the Application with your answers in an email (preferred) or text.
- Download the application, download "Acrobat Reader DC" onto your computer,
Open the application onto Acrobat Reader DC, click "Fill & Sign".
Once you click "Fill & Sign", you can click on each line and fill in your answers.
For the 'YES/NO' questions, you can use a "highlighter" or "add circle" button to highlight/circle your answer.
